陸叔遠 Robert Loh

In 1970, Robert Luh graduated from Northwestern University in the United States with a degree in Radio, Television, and Film. Upon returning to Hong Kong, he worked as a television program producer and director at TVB (Television Broadcasts Limited) before transitioning into the advertising industry. In the mid-1970s, he ventured into fashion design, serving as a menswear designer for brands such as MICHEL RENÉ, Sahara Club, and Reno.
In 1985, upon the recommendation of photographer and director Wing Wai-chuen, Robert Luh worked as the art director for director Philip Chan’s film Silent Night. His surreal aesthetic style won him the "Best Art Direction" award at the 5th Hong Kong Film Awards, marking an impressive debut in the film industry.
During the 1990s, he moved to the Netherlands, where he served as the Menswear Design Director for the fashion brand MEXX. He later became the Asia-Pacific Image Director for ESPRIT, spearheading projects related to environmental protection, social responsibility, and cultural initiatives.
Robert Luh has been engaged in artistic creation for over a decade, holding multiple exhibitions and curating various art projects. His notable exhibitions include Behind the Eyeball, designed for both visually impaired and sighted audiences, and All You Can Eat, a food-themed exhibition. In 1997, he was appointed Cultural Consultant for the Hong Kong Handover Ceremony.
In 2010, he facilitated the Shenzhen screenings of the German Lightning Film Festival and the Malta Film Festival. He has also served as a guest lecturer at the Hong Kong UFO Association, delivering lectures on topics such as terrestrial biology, Kalaba philosophy, Irish mysticism, and Egyptian culture.
In 2016, Robert Luh made his acting debut in Good Friend, a film directed by young Chinese filmmaker Yang Pingdao. In 2020, he wrote, directed, and starred in The Story on the Cruise, a semi-documentary, semi-fictional experimental film featuring thirty non-professional actors.
